Our Story
We would like to introduce ourselves and warmly welcome you to Somatic Therapies Massage Center. We are a locally owned small business located in Leon Springs, Texas—just north of La Cantera and The Rim shopping areas on the northwest side of San Antonio, and 11 miles from Boerne.

Somatic Therapies Massage Center opened in Leon Springs in April of 2002. It feels like yesterday that we took that leap of faith, driven by passion and a vision to create something truly special. We strive to provide treatments where comfort meets relief-a place where you can finally exhale. What began as a small idea—fueled by hope, hard work, and a commitment to offering wellness to our community—has grown into a thriving business that we are incredibly proud of today.
Our center is designed to serve as a tranquil retreat from the bustling city.
Our charming rustic cottage-style house incorporates raw, natural elements to create a calming space where you can truly let go. From natural wood floors and ceilings to pallet wood walls, every detail is aligned with nature to support a deeper level of rest and peace.

THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT
CLINICAL TREATMENT
Our therapeutic massage is intended to alleviate chronic stress and discomfort using Swedish massage techniques. This treatment is excellent for anyone looking to unwind. To enhance the relaxation experience, steam towels will be incorporated into the treatment that will allow your muscles to relax. Applying these techniques during your massage will improve the mobility in the joints and muscles. A Therapeutic Massage helps to alleviate stress and improve range of motion in preparation for daily activity.

Perfect for the Person who Prefers the Entire Massage Session focused on a problematic area.
This treatment may include deep tissue manipulation, and cross-fiber friction. Modalities may include essential oils, moist heat and cold therapy. We will focus the entire massage on a problematic area enhancing rehabilitation time, alleviating chronic pain and discomfort and improving range of motion. Side positioning on the massage table may be used to enhance manipulation of the soft tissue. Indications for these treatments include: Carpal Tunnel, shoulder injuries, sciatic pain, Plantar Fasciitis and chronic neck pain.

PRE-NATAL TREATMENT
Pregnancy massage can help reduce stress and musculoskeletal tension commonly associated with pregnancy, supporting maternal comfort and physical well-being. Our prenatal massage services are provided by our L.M.T. certified in prenatal massage with over 25 years of clinical experience working with pregnant clients. When administered by a trained provider, massage therapy may promote circulation, support lymphatic tissue, and help alleviate muscle discomfort related to postural and physiological changes during pregnancy. Massage also contributes to the management of pregnancy-related edema and support overall relaxation.

Warm towels and a selection of optional essential oils and natural crèmes are provided during services. Warm towels assist with muscle relaxation, and when combined with essential oils, may promote overall relaxation and sensory comfort.

During this 1/2 Hr., gentle therapeutic techniques are applied to the scalp, forehead, temples, and occipital region to encourage circulation and release muscular tightness. This cranial massage also helps relieve sinus pressure and may reduce the severity and frequency of tension and migraine headaches, as well as discomfort associated with TMJ.
